Saudi Arabia Unveils Cutting-Edge Combat Ship, His Majesty’s Ship Onaiza, in Jeddah
Riyadh, The Gulf Observer: Lieutenant General Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili, Chief of the General Staff of Saudi Arabia, officially launched His Majesty’s Ship Onaiza on Tuesday, marking a significant milestone in the Sarawat project. The ceremony, held at the King Faisal Naval Base in Jeddah, highlighted the commitment of Saudi Arabia to strengthen its maritime capabilities and safeguard national interests.
The Sarawat project, a testament to Saudi Arabia’s dedication to innovation and security, focuses on the development of advanced naval vessels. His Majesty’s Ship Onaiza, the fifth vessel in this initiative, boasts cutting-edge combat systems designed to counter air, surface, and subsurface threats, including state-of-the-art electronic warfare capabilities.
Upon his arrival at the King Faisal Naval Base, Lt. Gen. Al-Ruwaili was warmly welcomed by Vice Admiral Fahad Bin Abdullah Al-Ghofaily, Commander of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces. The launch ceremony witnessed the unveiling of the Avante 2200 corvette, emphasizing the vessel’s role in bolstering the Kingdom’s maritime security.
In his address, Vice Admiral Al-Ghofaily highlighted the strategic significance of His Majesty’s Ship Onaiza.
