Saudi Cabinet Reaffirms Rejection of Israeli Extremist Statements
Riyadh, The Gulf Observer: The Saudi Council of Ministers, chaired by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, reiterated its firm rejection of extremist Israeli statements regarding the displacement of the Palestinian people during its session in Riyadh on Tuesday. The Cabinet reaffirmed the centrality of the Palestinian cause to Saudi Arabia, emphasizing that lasting peace can only be achieved through peaceful coexistence based on a two-state solution.
In a statement following the session, Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary highlighted the Cabinet’s discussions on regional and international developments. The Crown Prince provided an update on his recent phone calls with King Abdullah II of Jordan and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, underscoring continued diplomatic cooperation.
The Council reviewed the Kingdom’s ongoing initiatives to strengthen relations with various countries, focusing on joint committees aimed at fostering cooperation and achieving mutual benefits. Additionally, the Cabinet discussed Saudi Arabia’s leading role in multilateral organizations, noting the Kingdom’s election to the Executive Committee of the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA).
Domestically, the Cabinet welcomed the launch of the King Salman Automotive Cluster, a major step towards economic diversification and enhancing the non-oil GDP. It also praised the completion of the Fiscal Sustainability Program’s executive plan, which enhances fiscal efficiency, strengthens public finances, and supports Saudi Vision 2030.
Further reflecting Saudi Arabia’s commitment to security and stability, the Cabinet noted the Kingdom’s top ranking in the G20 Security Index. The Council also approved several key initiatives, including amendments to the Public Prosecution Law and the Board of Grievances Law, as well as the National Program for Succession and Leadership Development.
The Cabinet endorsed a series of international agreements, including cooperation with Jordan on combating illicit trafficking and smuggling of narcotics, political consultations with Armenia, and mutual visa exemptions with the Solomon Islands. It also approved various MoUs with Morocco, Qatar, Oman, Maldives, Serbia, Egypt, the UK, and Türkiye, covering sectors ranging from traditional arts to maritime transport and central banking.
This comprehensive set of initiatives reflects Saudi Arabia’s continued focus on both domestic advancement and its pivotal role in global diplomacy and cooperation.
