Saudi Defence Minister, Field Marshal Asim Munir Discuss Defence Cooperation, Mecca Pact
Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Saudi Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman held a meeting with Pakistan’s Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir to discuss regional security developments and further strengthening defence cooperation between the two countries.
According to a statement issued by the Saudi Ministry of Defence, the two sides reviewed bilateral defence cooperation and discussed ways to further enhance military relations between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
The officials also agreed to continue defence efforts under the Mecca Pact and welcomed the recent meeting of military chiefs from member states of the agreement. They expressed their commitment to translating the pact’s principles and commitments into effective military cooperation.
The meeting also included a review of the security situation and threats facing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Particular attention was given to attacks targeting Makkah and critical installations in Saudi Arabia.
Both sides stressed the importance of continuing joint efforts and coordinated measures under the Mecca Pact to effectively respond to any such threats and strengthen regional security cooperation.
