Saudi Leadership Extends Condolences to Türkiye After Military Plane Crash

Riyadh, The Gulf Observer: Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Thursday conveyed their condolences to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan over the deaths of Turkish soldiers in a military cargo plane crash near the Azerbaijan–Georgia border.
According to a statement from the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, King Salman sent a cable expressing “condolences and sympathy” to President Erdogan following the tragic incident, which resulted in multiple fatalities. He prayed for God’s mercy upon the victims, patience and solace for their families, and protection for Türkiye from “all harm.”
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman also dispatched a similar message of condolence to the Turkish president, reaffirming the Kingdom’s solidarity with Türkiye during this difficult time.
The Turkish Defense Ministry earlier confirmed that 20 soldiers were killed on Tuesday when one of its military cargo planes crashed in the border region between Azerbaijan and Georgia.
