Saudi Ministry of Justice launches digitally notarized e-contracts

Riyadh, The Gulf Observer: The Saudi Ministry of Justice (MoJ) launched on Thursday digitally notarized e-contracts recognized as enforcement instruments in a step to augment preventive justice and protect contractual rights.

“The ministry is working with several supervisory authorities to study the implementation of digital notarization to protect all contractual obligations and commitments,” the ministry said.

“The enforcement judiciary recognizes the digitally notarized e-contracts as enforcement instruments that preserve the rights of all parties and enable swift enforcement.”

By launching the product, the ministry aims to create unified e-contracts with notarial integration and promote preventive justice. It also aims to support various sectors, boost judicial indicators, and achieve worldwide distinction in contract enforcement.

The initiative goes through several stages including the legal and notarial grounds for recognizing the contract as an enforcement instrument, studying the facts of the contract and the effect of recognition as an enforcement instrument, legal review of the contract, and integration with the ministry’s systems.
