SCO Transport Forum begins in Tashkent

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: The First Transport Forum of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) began its work at Uzexpocentre.

The forum is attended by ministers and deputy ministers of transport, heads of several companies in the sector, and representatives of enterprises in the transport and logistics sector of the SCO member states.

Transport Minister Ilkhom Mahkamov noted that holding the forum in Tashkent is an essential event for industry representatives. The forum is another opportunity to discuss the main problems and tasks in the transport sector, and promising projects, including the creation of effective international transport routes and the definition of strategies and mechanisms for further developing transport and communication ties of the SCO countries.

The President of Uzbekistan put forward the initiative to hold the First SCO International Transport Forum at the SCO Samarkand Summit held in September 2022.

The forum will run until November 3.
