Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: Today, under the stewardship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a pivotal meeting convened to address matters concerning the enhancement of defense infrastructure and the progressive development of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan. This gathering underscores the administration’s unwavering commitment to fortifying the nation’s defense capabilities and nurturing the continued advancement and modernization of its military forces. Discussions centered on strategic initiatives aimed at bolstering defense infrastructure, fostering innovation, and ensuring the Armed Forces remain equipped with the necessary resources and technologies to meet contemporary challenges while safeguarding the sovereignty and security of Uzbekistan.

The discussions encompassed a range of critical topics aimed at advancing the combat readiness and efficacy of the armed forces. Emphasis was placed on elevating troop preparedness, enhancing combat effectiveness through the provision of contemporary weaponry and military hardware, and undertaking comprehensive modernization of existing armaments. Additionally, deliberations extended to strategies for fostering military-patriotic education among the nation’s youth, reinforcing their understanding of national defense, and cultivating a sense of duty towards the country’s security. Furthermore, attention was directed towards ensuring robust social security measures for military personnel, their families, and veterans of the Armed Forces, recognizing their invaluable contributions and ensuring their well-being within the framework of the nation’s defense infrastructure.

A report was heard from the Minister of Defense on the work done to improve the effectiveness of combat and moral-psychological training of troops, the activities of command-and-control bodies, formations, formations and units, as well as higher military educational institutions.

During the reporting period, special attention was paid to the military-patriotic education of youth. In particular, over 24 thousand events were held in mahallas, and more than 5 thousand young people were involved in training camps of the “Schools of Courage”.

The practice of organizing circles and sections in various disciplines, sports and arts for children and adolescents of families included in the “iron notebook” in military camps, as well as assigning them to brigade commanders and military district commanders, has been established.

More than 580 operational combat training events were also carried out, in which over 35 thousand military personnel of the Armed Forces took part.

Social protection of military personnel and members of their families has been strengthened.

Thanks to the measures taken, the effectiveness of combat training of troops has been increased, the professionalism of military personnel, their morale and psychological preparedness have increased significantly.

A new system for training military personnel based on advanced technologies has been introduced into the activities of military universities.

In addition, special attention was paid to the digitalization of the military sphere. Modern automated troop control systems are being gradually introduced, as well as the communication system is being improved.

The meeting emphasized the importance of continuing work to equip the national army with modern weapons and military-technical equipment, as well as improving the defense-industrial complex.

The issues of organizing and holding high-level events to celebrate the 32nd anniversary of the formation of the Armed Forces and the Day of Defenders of the Motherland, celebrated on January 14, were also considered.

Following the meeting, the head of state gave several instructions to further improve the activities of the Armed Forces and increase the country’s defense capability.
