Shavkat Mirziyoyev Meets with Vietnam's Prime Minister Chinh in Kazan

Kazan, The Gulf Observer: As part of the BRICS Summit held in Kazan, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, met with the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Pham Minh Chinh. The two leaders discussed expanding multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Vietnam, with a particular focus on trade, economic, and investment relations.

During the meeting, both parties emphasized the importance of institutionalizing intergovernmental and interdepartmental contacts to enhance practical collaboration. They agreed on the necessity of convening the next meeting of the Joint Commission on Trade and Economic Issues and proposed holding a business forum and industrial exhibition in Hanoi early next year.

To promote new bilateral projects, a comprehensive program for the development of industrial cooperation in sectors such as petrochemicals, electrical engineering, textiles, and agriculture was proposed. Both leaders expressed their commitment to strengthening business ties and increasing tourism exchanges, including discussions on establishing a visa-free regime.

The schedule of upcoming bilateral engagements at various levels was also reviewed, and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh extended an invitation to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to pay an official visit to Vietnam. The leaders reaffirmed their dedication to furthering cooperation between their countries in key areas of mutual interest.
