Sri Lanka Marks 70 Years of Diplomatic Relations with Switzerland

Colombo, The Gulf Observer: The Embassy of Switzerland in Sri Lanka is commemorating 70 years of diplomatic relations between Switzerland and Sri Lanka with a special exhibition titled ‘70 Years | 70 Faces’, celebrating individuals who have played a significant role in strengthening the long-standing partnership between the two nations.
Since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1956, Switzerland and Sri Lanka have maintained strong cooperation across diplomacy, trade, culture, and education. Over the decades, bilateral relations have continued to evolve, fostering mutual understanding and shared progress.
In a statement issued to mark the milestone anniversary, the Embassy said the ‘70 Years | 70 Faces’ exhibition showcases the stories of individuals who have supported and shaped Swiss–Sri Lankan relations, leaving a lasting impact on bilateral cooperation. Through photographs, curated exhibition panels, and personal testimonials, the exhibition highlights the contributions of those whose efforts have strengthened ties and inspired collaborative achievements between the two countries.
The exhibition will be officially launched on March 6 at the Radicle Gallery, De Mel Building, 103, Chatham Street, Colombo. The launch event will be held by invitation only.
Following the opening ceremony, the exhibition will be open to the public at the same venue from March 7 to March 16, with visiting hours from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. daily.
The Embassy has invited members of the public to attend and explore seven decades of shared history, partnership, and collaboration between Switzerland and Sri Lanka.
