Sri Lankan High Commissioner meets with Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: On 22nd October 2024, Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director, Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future (PRCCSF), visited the High Commission of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, and had a meeting with His Excellency Admiral Ravindra C Wijegunaratne (Retd), High Commissioner of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to Pakistan.

The meeting focused on discussions about the concept of a community with a shared future and the enhancement of bilateral relations between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. They highlighted the importance of strengthening collaborations in research, culture, and the heritage of the Gandhara civilization, recognizing its historical and cultural importance to both countries. Both Mr. Akram and High Commissioner Wijegunaratne recognized the crucial role these initiatives play in fortifying the relationship between the two countries.

Mr. A. Christy Ruban, Minister and Deputy Head of the Mission of Sri Lanka, was also present in the meeting. The High Commissioner expressed his appreciation for Mr. Akram’s significant contributions toward promoting the concept of a community with a shared future and enhancing research and people-to-people connectivity between Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram also presented his book titled “Building a Community with Shared Future: A Hope for Mankind” to High Commissioner Wijegunaratne, who remarked on the book’s valuable insights concerning the Belt and Road Initiative and regional connectivity.
