Sultan Haitham Meets Saudi Crown Prince in Jeddah to Discuss Bilateral Ties, Regional Developments

Jeddah, The Gulf Observer: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of the Sultanate of Oman paid a private fraternal visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, during which he held a meeting with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud at His Royal Highness’s residence in Jeddah.

The meeting reviewed the deep-rooted fraternal relations between Oman and Saudi Arabia and explored ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation across various sectors in a manner that serves the mutual interests of the two countries.

The two sides also exchanged views on recent developments relating to key regional and international issues. They discussed possible approaches to promoting de-escalation and peace, with a view to enhancing the security and stability of states and peoples while protecting their economies and interests.

A number of senior Omani officials attended the meeting alongside Sultan Haitham, including Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said; Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi; Minister of the Royal Office Gen. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nu’amani; Minister of Interior Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi; Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi; Head of the Private Office Dr. Hamad bin Said Al Aufi; President of the Oman Investment Authority Abdulsalam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi; Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology Eng. Said bin Hamoud Al Maawali; Minister of Energy and Minerals Eng. Salim bin Nassir Al Aufi; and Ambassador of Oman to Saudi Arabia Sayyid Najeeb bin Hilal Al Busaidi.

Representing the Saudi side were Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud, Minister of Energy and Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources; Prince Saud bin Mishal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Governor of the Makkah Region; Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud; Minister of Commerce Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al Qasabi; Minister of Tourism Ahmed bin Aqeel Al Khatib; Minister of Transport and Logistics Eng. Saleh bin Nasser Al Jasser; Minister of Investment Fahd bin Abdul Jalil Al Saif; Chief of General Intelligence Khalid bin Ali Al Humaidan; and Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Oman Ibrahim bin Saad bin Bishan.

Prince Mohammed bin Salman, accompanied by a number of senior Saudi officials, welcomed Sultan Haitham upon his arrival and saw him off at the Royal Pavilion of King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah at the conclusion of his visit.
