Sultan Haitham Pays Fraternal Visit to Qatar, Holds Talks with Emir Sheikh Tamim
Doha, The Gulf Observer: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of the Sultanate of Oman paid a private fraternal visit to Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, on Sunday.
During the visit, the two leaders held a cordial meeting at the Amiri Diwan in Doha, where they reviewed the course of bilateral relations and discussed prospects for further strengthening cooperation across various sectors.
The discussions focused on advancing existing areas of collaboration in a manner that serves the mutual interests of Oman and Qatar and supports their shared aspirations.
The Sultan was accompanied by a high-level Omani delegation, including HH Sayyid Bilarab bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of State and Governor of Muscat; Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court; Gen. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nu’mani, Minister of the Royal Office; Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior; Eng. Salim bin Nasser Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals; Dr. Sultan bin Yarub Al Busaidi, Advisor at the Private Office; and Sayyid Ammar bin Abdullah Al Busaidi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Qatar.
The Qatari side was represented by Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs; Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani, Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya); Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Khulaifi, Chief of the Amiri Diwan; Sheikh Hamad bin Tamim Al Thani; Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs; Sheikh Faisal bin Thani Al Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry; Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Thani, Minister of Transport; Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs; and Sheikh Mubarak bin Fahd Al Thani, Ambassador of Qatar to Oman.
The Emir of Qatar personally welcomed and bid farewell to Sultan Haitham at the Amiri Terminal of Hamad International Airport. The Emir was accompanied by a number of senior Qatari officials during the Sultan’s arrival and departure.
The visit underscores the longstanding fraternal ties between Oman and Qatar and reflects the two countries’ continued commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation and coordination across areas of mutual interest.
