Sultan of Oman and Amir of Qatar Hold Official Talks to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation
Muscat, The Gulf Observer: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of Oman and Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, held an official session of talks at Al Alam Palace in Muscat today. The meeting focused on strengthening the ties of cooperation and understanding between the two nations, as well as exploring new opportunities for partnership and investment.
At the outset of the session, His Majesty Sultan Haitham warmly welcomed Sheikh Tamim and his accompanying delegation, expressing his pleasure over their visit and wishing them a pleasant stay in Oman. In response, Sheikh Tamim extended his heartfelt thanks and appreciation to His Majesty for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to him and his delegation.
The discussions covered several areas of mutual interest, including expanding economic cooperation, fostering stronger bilateral relations, and identifying opportunities to further enhance collaboration across various sectors. Both leaders underscored the importance of promoting initiatives that would benefit the peoples of both countries.
Additionally, the two leaders exchanged views on current global developments and their potential repercussions on the region. The talks also delved into regional and international efforts to ensure peace, security, and stability, with a focus on long-term strategies for sustainable cooperation.
The official session of talks was attended by senior officials from both countries. From the Omani side, notable attendees included HH Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers; HH Sayyid Asa’ad bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Personal Representative of His Majesty the Sultan; HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs; and Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, among others.
Representing Qatar were Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs; Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, President of the Qatar Olympic Committee; Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Khulaifi, Chief of the Amiri Diwan; and several other prominent Qatari officials, including Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, Minister of Finance, and Sheikh Mubarak bin Fahad Al Thani, Ambassador of Qatar to Oman.
The meeting further reinforced the strong bond of friendship and cooperation between Oman and Qatar, as both nations continue to work together to enhance their economic, political, and cultural relations on the regional and global stage.
