Tajikistan, Flanders Discuss Expanding Economic and Investment Cooperation

Dushanbe, The Gulf Observer: Tajikistan’s Minister of Economic Development and Trade Abdurahmon Abdurahmonzoda held a meeting with a delegation from Flanders, Kingdom of Belgium, in Dushanbe on August 24 to discuss prospects for expanding economic and investment cooperation.

According to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, the meeting focused on attracting investment, establishing joint ventures and utilizing the potential of Tajikistan’s free economic zones.

The sides also discussed opportunities to expand cooperation in industry, energy, logistics, pharmaceuticals, agricultural processing and tourism.

During the meeting, it was noted that Tajikistan attaches particular importance to strengthening economic cooperation with Flanders, while economic ties between the two sides have developed in recent years.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides expressed readiness to further expand trade and economic cooperation, promote investment and strengthen direct business-to-business relations.

The discussions highlighted the potential for closer economic engagement between Tajikistan and Flanders across a range of priority sectors.
