The Love and Respect for British Monarchy

The whole world is in revolt, soon there will be only five Kings left-The King of England, the King of Spade, the King of Clubs, the King of hearts and the King of Diamonds (King Farouk of Egypt,1936-1952).
The above quote of the Ex-King is a futuristic prophecy, accordingly there will be no physical King on the Earth except that of England. When I read this prophecy, I determined to solve the enigma of this prophecy. The King Farouk of Egypt was a seasoned monarch, he was fully aware about the hidden weaknesses of monarchy.
He knew the public sentiments are not in favour of monarchs, infact in His time the people had started leanings towards democracy. We all know the independence of U.S. and successful experience of democratic government there, provided information about the blessings of democracy. This mass level familiarity with democracy resulted to generate democratic feelings among masses. The popular and fascinating slogan, the government of the people by the people for the people started getting ground and threatening all other systems of Government.

Keeping in view this political scenario of the world, the prophecy of King Farouk seems true, and alarming for monarchies. At present, democracy is being praised all over the world, people think it the most suitable system of government to benefit them. The political thinkers consider democracy far superior than monarchy, and the best system of government to run the modern states. The Democrats regard this slogan as blessing and use it as a weapon to create hate against Dictators and Kings. Now democracy verses kingship is an effective tool to dethrone the monarchs. At present democracy is rapidly sealing the fate of monarchies.
This is exactly matching the prophecy of King Farouk, But the question arises about the truth of the next portion of the same prophecy, Why the monarchy of England is eternal? What factors provide strength and support to the British monarchy? I tried my best to find and dig out the reasons that provide a satisfactory answer. We know, the strength and viability of a political system resides upon the stern and wholehearted support of the people. Fortunately the British monarchy keeps public support for centuries.
The British Monarchy is unique in the World, The most charming aspect of it is the monarch of Britain reign not rule, whereas in other monarchies the monarchs reign and rule side by side
The other thing which is unique, is its consistency for more than 1,000 years. The love of Britons with their monarchs teem like blood in their veins. This love and affection developed in centuries, they feel royal family as an umbrella which provides them security in extreme conditions. Their experience of long linkage and affiliation with monarchy is satisfactory.
After hundreds of years, the Britons can not remember a time without a form of monarchy. The royal family brings about comfort and familiarity, an emotional love which often does not successfully preserve monarchies in other sovereignities. The Crown is a symbol of cooperation and subjugation. The royals are more relatable to general public, this is central to the strength and survival of monarchy in the modern era. Though the King or Queen no longer has political role, He or She continues to play his, her part in the life of their nation.
As Head of State, the Monarch undertakes constitutional and representational duties which have developed over centuries. The Britons idealize the life style of royal family, this creates a sense of nationality and patriotism. The strong binding to traditions serve as a reminder of their proud traditions and glorious past when two third of the surface of globe was ruled by the British Crown. The centuries long lived monarchy provides Britons to enjoy free and pompous lives under her. Since 1689, The Great Britain officially became a Constitutional monarchy. The power to pass legistlation resides with an elected body known as parliament.
The monarch possessed prerogative powers or personal prerogatives, and can use these to appoint or dismiss ministers, to summon parliament, give royal assent to bill passed by the parliament. The King or Queen can remove a Prime Minister who refuse to resign, despite losing confidence of Parliament’s House of Commons. This all provide Britons sense of freedom through parliament. In the presence of their monarchs, elections of the parliament remain transparent and without any interference of the Royal Family. For centuries no rigging is made in elections, the will of the people is always honored by the monarch. The PM and his Cabinet run the affairs of the Govt. at the name of His/Her Majesty. These unique features of the British monarchy are major sources of its stability and viability.
The system of the British Monarchy is so foolproof that there is no place for palace conspiracies
A strong and the most practical system of succession is also a source of strength for the British monarchy. The British monarch never exercise his powers, and let the parliament to work freely. The Britons love to King palace, which is a source of inspiration, guidance and cultural adherence. Such benevolent system of monarchy is unparalleled and could not established by other monarchies.
The major objections made by Democrats against the need of monarchy in England are the unnecessary burden on exchequer, the presence of King as Head of State does not match to the spirit of democracy. But these objections become null and void when we see the reality, millions of tourists come England every year to see royal festivals and spend huge money there, this money is a great source of income for the British exchequer.
The expenditures on any democratic head of state are no less than that of royal palace, for example the expenditures of White house or any other presidential residence of the World are not less than that of Birmingham palace. The expenditures on election of president remain a permanent source of burden on the economy of democratic countries with president as head of state. The Britons have no need for such expenditures that are being made by Presidential democracies.
