Trump Commends PM Shehbaz, Field Marshal Asim Munir Following Strait of Hormuz Breakthrough
Washington, The Gulf Observer: United States President Donald Trump on Friday lauded Pakistan’s leadership following Iran’s announcement to reopen the strategic Strait of Hormuz for commercial shipping.
In a post on Truth Social, President Trump praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of the Army Staff Asim Munir for their roles, describing them as “two fantastic people.”
“Thank you to Pakistan and its great prime minister and field marshal,” Trump stated, acknowledging their contributions in the broader diplomatic efforts linked to the recent development.
The remarks came in the wake of what has been described as a breakthrough in regional tensions, as Iran confirmed the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz for commercial vessels, a move expected to ease concerns over global trade and energy supplies.
