Ankara, The Gulf Observer: Türkiye played host to an unprecedented summit on rare earth elements in Ankara. The summit saw the participation of Türkiye’s Minister of Industry and Technology, Mehmet Fatih Kacır, and Nikolaus Meyer-Landrut, the distinguished leader of the European Union Delegation to Türkiye.

Addressing the gathering on Wednesday, Meyer-Landrut underscored the paramount importance of investing in rare earth elements within an innovative, sustainable, and inclusive framework to propel green growth and contribute to shaping a better future. The EU delegation head highlighted the pivotal role Türkiye can play in the European Union’s value chains, positioning the nation as a key production hub for European companies and a substantial market for Turkish enterprises.

Minister Kacır, in response, expressed Ankara’s optimism regarding the positive impact of the “Enhancing the Rare Earth Elements Research and Innovation Capacity of Türkiye” project. He articulated Ankara’s hope that the initiative would enhance the business environment, fortify research, technological development, and innovation, thereby benefiting both Türkiye and the European Union.

Kacır emphasized that the rare earth elements project is a crucial component of the Competitive Sectors Program, an enterprise characterized by financial cooperation with the EU aimed at elevating competitiveness in both domestic and foreign markets.
