Turkmenabat Marks 250th Anniversary of Poet and Commander Seyitnazar Seydi

Turkmenabat, The Gulf Observer: The 250th anniversary of the renowned poet and military commander Seyitnazar Seydi was commemorated in Turkmenabat with a creative gathering at the Seyitnazar Seydi Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute.
The event brought together faculty members, students, and representatives of the creative community. It opened with readings of original poems by members of the university’s literary circle, “Poetic Generation,” which were warmly received by participants.
Scholars specializing in the study of Seyitnazar Seydi’s life and work delivered speeches highlighting his contributions to literature and history. Attendees also viewed video segments showing teachers, students, and writers visiting the poet’s monument in Garabekevul, near the historic Soltanniyaz Beg fortress.
The commemoration concluded with a student-prepared literary and musical performance titled “The Era in Which Seyitnazar Seydi Lived.” The institute, which bears the poet’s name, continues to conduct research dedicated to preserving and promoting Seyitnazar Seydi’s legacy.
