Turkmenistan and Belgium Explore Prospects for High-Level Dialogue

Brussels, The Gulf Observer: Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium, H.E. Sapar Palvanov, held a series of high-level meetings on Monday with senior Belgian officials to explore the possibility of establishing high-level contacts between the two countries, according to a statement from the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Belgium.
The discussions took place on the sidelines of official events marking Belgium’s National Day, which were attended by members of the royal family, as well as senior figures from the Belgian government and parliament.
Ambassador Palvanov met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Prévot, Speaker of the Chamber of Representatives Peter De Roover, Chief of the Royal Household Vincent Houssiau, and Diplomatic Advisor to the Prime Minister, Ambassador Thomas Lambert.
During the meetings, both sides exchanged views on strengthening bilateral relations and identified concrete areas for expanding cooperation. Particular attention was given to the potential for initiating high-level dialogue, which could lay the groundwork for enhanced diplomatic engagement and mutual collaboration in various sectors.
Diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Belgium were formally established in 1995. Since then, the two countries have continued to explore opportunities for constructive partnership, with a focus on political, economic, and cultural cooperation.
The latest discussions underscore the mutual interest in elevating ties and reaffirm both nations’ commitment to deepening their engagement on the international stage.
