Turkmenistan and Georgia Strengthen Parliamentary Cooperation

Tbilisi, The Gulf Observer: Dovletmyrat Seyitmammedov, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Georgia, met with Nino Tsilosani, Deputy Chairperson of the Parliament of Georgia, to discuss bilateral relations and parliamentary cooperation. The meeting, held in the Georgian capital, focused on the outcomes of a recent parliamentary delegation visit to Turkmenistan in April 2024, as reported by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia.

The visit, led by Shalva Papuashvili, Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, provided a platform for regular dialogue and facilitated the identification of priority areas for cooperation. The engagement between the legislative bodies of both nations played a pivotal role in strengthening Turkmen-Georgian relations, particularly during the meeting of the Speakers of Parliaments.

During the discussions, both sides underscored the significance of the Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group as an effective mechanism for fostering mutual understanding and enhancing constructive partnerships. The group serves as a key instrument in deepening collaboration between the two nations at the legislative level and strengthening people-to-people ties.

Ambassador Seyitmammedov and Deputy Chairperson Tsilosani reaffirmed their commitment to further developing their partnership across multiple sectors. They reviewed the current state of Turkmen-Georgian relations and explored prospects for expanding cooperation in trade, economic development, cultural-humanitarian exchanges, transportation, and energy.

Both parties expressed their readiness to continue fostering dialogue and reinforcing mutually beneficial cooperation, further solidifying the strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and Georgia.
