Turkmenistan and "Latter-day Saints" Eye Humanitarian Partnership in Switzerland

Geneva, The Gulf Observer: A significant meeting took place in Switzerland between Vepa Hajiyev, the Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the UN Office in Geneva, and representatives of the international Christian charity organization “Latter-day Saints,” as reported by the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.

The focal point of the discussions revolved around the potential establishment of collaboration to implement joint humanitarian projects aimed at assisting vulnerable populations across different regions of the world. Both parties expressed a shared commitment to addressing global challenges through coordinated efforts in the realm of humanitarian initiatives.

The representatives of the “Latter-day Saints” organization commended Turkmenistan for its ongoing humanitarian activities, with a special acknowledgment of the Charitable Fund named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, established in 2021 to aid children in need of care. The importance of charitable endeavors in contemporary realities was underscored during the deliberations.

“Latter-day Saints” is a global organization with a presence in nearly 190 countries, having successfully implemented 3692 humanitarian projects in 2022, amounting to more than 1 billion USD. The meeting served as a platform for the exchange of insights and experiences in the humanitarian sector.

Following the productive meeting, representatives of the “Latter-day Saints” organization were provided with comprehensive information materials detailing the activities of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation.
