Turkmenistan and Türkiye Explore Strategic Energy Cooperation at Istanbul Energy Forum
Istanbul, The Gulf Observer: On Saturday, the Chairman of the State Concern Türkmengaz met with Türkiye’s Minister of Energy, Alparslan Bayraktar, on the sidelines of the Istanbul Energy Forum. The meeting focused on exploring joint energy projects involving Turkish state companies BOTAS and TPAO in Turkmenistan’s oil and gas fields.
According to official Turkish media, both sides discussed expanding bilateral cooperation in the oil and gas sector and deliberated on alternative routes for transporting Turkmen gas to Europe via Turkish territory.
The discussions were held under the forum’s motto, Common Future, Common Goals, underscoring the strategic energy partnership between the two nations. The dialogue reflects both countries’ commitment to enhancing energy collaboration and addressing regional energy challenges.
This meeting follows a significant agreement signed earlier in the week between the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Türkiye and the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan. The agreement facilitates the transport of Turkmen natural gas to Türkiye through Azerbaijan and Georgia, further strengthening regional energy integration.
The discussions at the Istanbul Energy Forum demonstrate Turkmenistan and Türkiye’s shared vision for a sustainable energy future and their commitment to leveraging strategic partnerships for mutual benefit.
