Turkmenistan Hosts ITTC 2024, Highlighting Global Transport Connectivity

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: The International Conference and Exhibition Transport and Transit Corridors: Interconnection and Development – 2024 (ITTC 2024) commenced on Tuesday at the Exhibition Hall of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov extended his congratulations to the participants, emphasizing Turkmenistan’s commitment to strengthening its role as a vital transport and logistics hub. “Our independent country places great importance on the development and diversification of logistics. As a result of implementing our transport and communication strategy, Turkmenistan systematically strengthens its position as a key transport and logistics center on both regional and international scales,” he remarked, as reported by Turkmenistan’s official media.

Timed to coincide with World Sustainable Transport Day, the conference has gathered leaders from the global transport community to address pressing challenges in the sector. Key highlights of the event include a high-level plenary session, thematic discussions, and the second Ministerial Meeting of the Group of Friends of Sustainable Transport, supported by the United Nations. Additionally, the Safe Roads for All initiative is set to take center stage.

The ITTC 2024 forum underscores the importance of collaborative efforts in advancing sustainable transport solutions and fostering connectivity across borders. The event will run until November 27, continuing Turkmenistan’s tradition of hosting pivotal discussions on transport and logistics.

The previous iteration, ITTC 2023, took place from May 3 to 5 last year, setting the foundation for ongoing dialogue on enhancing international transport corridors.
