Turkmenistan Invites Italian President to International Forum on Neutrality

Rome, The Gulf Observer: Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Italy, Toyly Komekov, met with Fabio Cassese, the diplomatic advisor to the President of Italy, at the Quirinal Palace in Rome on Tuesday. During the meeting, the Turkmen diplomat formally delivered an invitation for Italian President Sergio Mattarella to participate in the upcoming International Forum dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality and the designation of 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust.
The invitation was extended on behalf of the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, as reported by Turkmenistan’s official media.
In addition to discussing the invitation, both sides exchanged views on strengthening bilateral cooperation across political, economic, and cultural spheres. The meeting underscored the mutual interest in expanding collaboration between Turkmenistan and Italy.
Turkmenistan has also extended invitations to several other heads of state, including President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan, President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Türkiye, President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan, President Xi Jinping of China, and Rustam Minnikhanov, Head of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Russian Federation.
The International Forum is expected to serve as a platform for high-level discussions on global peace, neutrality, and international cooperation.
