Turkmenistan Unanimously Elected Vice President of 79th UN General Assembly

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: Turkmenistan has been unanimously elected as the Vice President of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, as reported by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov during a regular online meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Friday.

Turkmenistan’s official media highlighted that Vice Premier Meredov extended congratulations to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and National Leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on this significant achievement.

President Berdimuhamedov remarked that the unanimous election reflects the international community’s broad support for Turkmenistan’s foreign policy. He emphasized that Turkmenistan will continue its effective cooperation with the United Nations and warmly congratulated everyone on this milestone event.

In addition, Rashid Meredov reported on the preparations for the upcoming state visit of the President of South Korea to Turkmenistan. President Berdimuhamedov instructed the Vice Premier, the Foreign Minister, and other Cabinet members to ensure a high level of organization for this visit.

The government meeting also reviewed the performance results of the national economy sectors for the first five months of the current year, underscoring the ongoing development and progress within the country.
