UAE and Colombia Strengthen Cooperation in Technology and Innovation
Bogotá, The Gulf Observer: In a bid to further enhance bilateral relations and cooperation, Mohammed Abdullah Al Shamsi, UAE Ambassador to Colombia, met with Yesenia Olaya Requene, Colombia’s Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation.
During the meeting, both sides discussed avenues for advancing collaboration in technology, artificial intelligence (AI), digitisation, and smart applications. Al Shamsi highlighted the UAE’s commitment to innovation through the “UAE Strategy for Artificial Intelligence (AI),” which is designed to achieve the long-term objectives of UAE Centennial 2071.
The strategy aims to enhance government performance at all levels, leverage a comprehensive smart digital system to address challenges, and provide efficient solutions. This initiative positions the UAE as a global leader in AI investments across various sectors, creating a new market of high economic value.
The discussions also focused on joint projects between Colombia’s Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation and Emirati companies. Both parties emphasized the importance of this cooperation in promoting the use of modern technology and AI in critical areas such as trade, the economy, and cybersecurity.
This meeting underscores the commitment of both nations to collaborate in technology and innovation, contributing to sustainable development and economic prosperity.
