UAE, Iraq, Qatar, and Türkiye Sign MoU for Development Road Project
Baghdad, The Gulf Observer: In a landmark agreement aimed at fostering regional economic development and cooperation, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Qatar, and Türkiye have signed a quadrilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for collaboration on the Development Road project. The signing ceremony, witnessed by Iraq’s Prime Minister Muhammed S. Al-Sudani and President of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, took place on Monday, marking a significant milestone in regional partnership and connectivity.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Media Office received by the Iraqi News Agency, the MoU underscores a collective commitment to advancing the strategic Development Road project. The signing ceremony was attended by representatives from the four signatory countries, reflecting their shared dedication to fostering regional integration and economic growth.
The MoU was signed by key officials including UAE’s Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei; Iraq’s Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhibis; Turkiye’s Abdulkadir Uraloğlu; and Qatar’s Minister of Transport, Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti.
The framework outlined in the MoU aims to stimulate economic growth and promote regional and international cooperation through enhanced economic integration. The Development Road project seeks to establish a sustainable economy bridging East and West, facilitate increased international trade, streamline movement and commerce, create a competitive transport route, and bolster economic prosperity across the region.
