UAE President Awards Honors for UAE’s Removal from FATF Monitoring List

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: In a momentous ceremony at Qasr Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President, conferred the Order of the Union upon His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs. Additionally, committee members, other ministers, and senior officials were awarded the Order of Zayed II First Class. This prestigious recognition acknowledges the committee’s exceptional accomplishment in securing the UAE’s removal from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) list of “Jurisdictions under Increased Monitoring.” FATF, an international organization dedicated to combating money laundering and terrorist financing, acknowledged the UAE’s robust efforts in this regard.

In the presence of His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, the President extended his heartfelt congratulations to the committee members, lauding their significant contributions that led to this remarkable achievement. His Highness expressed deep appreciation for the tireless efforts invested in reaching this milestone, which not only elevates the country’s global standing but also reinforces confidence in its financial system and national framework for combating financial crimes.

The decision to remove the UAE from the FATF monitoring list aligns with the nation’s strategic plans to foster commercial and economic partnerships worldwide.
