UAEU conducts workshop with University of Malaya
Kuala Lumpur, The Gulf Observer: The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) conducted a workshop on joint research collaboration and assessment of the ongoing research projects with the University of Malaya (UM) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The workshop was attended by more than 60 faculty and researchers from UM. It aimed to develop future plans to enhance the research outcomes quantitatively and qualitatively of the joint projects.
Prof. Ahmed Ali Murad – Associate Provost for Research at UAEU – said that UAE University seeks to support international collaboration, which is positively reflected on the research quality and the scientific community by providing scientific solutions to various societal challenges, in line with the university’s vision of building international research collaboration with top-ranked universities.
He added that this technical workshop at Kuala Lumpur aimed to draw a road map for joint research activities through initiatives and indicators that are measured periodically.
In the second half of 2023, a joint international forum will be held at the UAEU campus in Al Ain, focusing on the research activities and outcomes of 16 projects that are jointly conducted by researchers from UAE University and UM.
Prof. Shaliza Ibrahim, Deputy Vice -Chancellor (Research & Innovation), University of Malaya – gave an overview of the university and its various research centres, while Prof. Ahmed Murad gave a detailed overview of the university, its colleges and its research vision that is in line with national priorities and strategies and its future plan aiming to achieve the university research goals.
Moreover, Prof. Mohsen Sherif, Director of Research & Sponsored Projects Office at the UAE University – presented the UAEU research capabilities, mechanism of international research cooperation, and facts about research productivity and quality of UAE University during the last few years.
