United Nations Secretary-General Embarks on Official Visit to Oman

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: The Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, has commenced a significant three-day official visit to the Sultanate of Oman, marking a pivotal moment in bilateral relations between the esteemed international organization and the Sultanate.

Oman News Agency (ONA) reported the arrival of Secretary-General Guterres in the country on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. His visit aims to bolster cooperation and dialogue between Oman and the United Nations across various spheres of mutual interest.

Upon touching down at Muscat International Airport, Secretary-General Guterres was accorded a warm welcome by Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Harithi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, alongside Ambassador Dr. Mohammed bin Awad Al Hassan, the distinguished Permanent Representative of the Sultanate of Oman to the United Nations. Additionally, a cadre of officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs extended their greetings to the esteemed guest.
