Uzbekistan 2022 poverty rate reduce by 3%, says Shavkat Mirziyoyev
Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: In 2022, the Uzbekistan poverty rate drop from 17% to 14%, Shavkat Mirziyoev said at the government meeting. He has set goals for 2023 to cut poverty, through creation of 2 million permanent jobs before the year-end.
He underscored that poverty reduction has been set as the priority of the national policies.
He added 200,000 business entities were set up in 2022, while 10,000 enterprises were expanded, and the capacity of 11,000 enterprises was restored.
To continue these policies in 2023, to ensure employment, specific tasks were given to the heads of all sectors and provinces.
In particular, he pointed to the need to provide employment for 5 million people in 2023, including the creation of 2 million permanent jobs.
