Uzbekistan and China Strengthen Comprehensive Strategic Partnership

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: In a significant step towards enhancing bilateral ties, the Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, N. Ismailov, met with a high-level Chinese delegation led by Chen Min’er, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Party Secretary of Tianjin.

During the meeting, the Uzbek side provided the delegation with an overview of the implementation of the country’s renewed Constitution and the key activities of the Legislative Chamber. The dialogue underscored the importance of legislative reforms under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, which have yielded substantial progress across all sectors.

Chen Min’er emphasized the strong and growing ties between Uzbekistan and China, describing the two nations as strategic partners. He highlighted that their cooperation is founded on mutual respect, brotherhood, and good neighborliness. The Chinese leader expressed deep appreciation for the wide-reaching reforms spearheaded by President Mirziyoyev, which have produced significant results in Uzbekistan’s development. He also stressed the importance of continued collaboration between regions, noting the mutual benefits of these partnerships.

Both sides agreed that the strong dialogue between their respective leaders has elevated Uzbekistan-China relations to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership. They acknowledged that recent high-level talks in Beijing in January and in Astana in July have identified new avenues for advancing their bilateral ties.

On the same day, the Chinese delegation held further discussions with leaders of political party factions in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis. Chen Min’er underscored the rapid development of relations between the governments, parliaments, and regions of both countries, and noted the CPC’s extensive ties with over 170 political parties from more than 130 countries, including five parties in Uzbekistan.

The meeting concluded with both sides expressing a commitment to intensify collaboration between the CPC and Uzbek political parties, further strengthening the enduring partnership between Uzbekistan and China.
