Uzbekistan increases Cherry export

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: During recent years, cherry plantations have been expanding in Uzbekistan, Cherry ranks fifth among the agricultural products that Uzbekistan exports. This year, cherries are grown in Uzbekistan on more than 337,000 hectares.

According to the Statistics Agency, in January-May 2023, Uzbekistan exported 32.8 thousand tons of sweet cherries to 15 countries for $38.9 million. It is noted that compared to the same period last year, the volume of exports of cherries increased by 14.4 thousand tons.

Accordingly, for 5 months of 2023, Uzbekistan exported the most cherries to Russia – 19.8 thousand tons, to Kazakhstan – 6.4 thousand tons, to Kyrgyzstan – 6.1 thousand tons, to Belarus – 333 tons, to the UAE – 36 tons, to China – 29 tons, to Malaysia – 17 tons and to Saudi Arabia – 10.5 tons.
