Tbilisi, The Gulf Observer: The prestigious Grand Slam judo tournament has concluded in Tbilisi, Georgia, with Uzbekistan reaffirming its status as a powerhouse in the sport.
In the fiercely contested under-90 kg weight category, featuring Olympic and World Championship medalists, Uzbekistan’s Umar Bozorov emerged victorious, clinching the gold medal. Bozorov triumphed over French judoka Alexis Mathieu in the final, demonstrating exceptional technique and an unyielding fighting spirit.
The Uzbekistan national team concluded the tournament with an impressive medal haul, securing one gold and two bronze medals. On the first day of the competition, Azizbek Ortikov and Abdurakhim Nutfullaev claimed bronze medals in the under-66 kg category, further cementing the country’s strong presence on the international judo stage.
