Uzbekistan, Tajikistan Energy Ministers Discuss Expanding Bilateral Cooperation in Tashkent

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: Bilateral cooperation in the energy sector was the focus of a high-level meeting between Uzbekistan’s Minister of Energy Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov and Tajikistan’s Minister of Energy Daler Juma, held in Tashkent.
During the talks, the ministers highlighted the significant progress achieved in recent years under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan and President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan. They emphasized that cooperation between the two countries has intensified across various sectors, particularly in energy, contributing positively to regional stability and sustainable development.
The parties underscored the effectiveness of ongoing joint energy projects and their growing role in strengthening economic ties between the neighboring states. Discussions centered on the modernization of power grids, the gradual expansion of electricity trading, and enhanced coordination of the two countries’ energy systems.
Special attention was also given to the technical and organizational requirements for connecting to the unified energy system of Central Asia, a move seen as a key step toward deeper regional integration in the power sector.
According to the Ministry of Energy, both sides expressed readiness to further strengthen their strategic partnership, expand cooperation in the energy field, and consistently advance joint initiatives aimed at serving the long-term interests of the two fraternal peoples.
