Uzbekistan, UK develop inter-parliamentary cooperation

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: The Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with members of the delegation of the British Group of the Inter-Parliamentary Union of the UK Parliament.

The event was attended by the Chairperson of the Committee on International Affairs and Inter-Parliamentary Relations of the Lower House of Parliament Dilorom Fayziyeva and a group of deputies. They provided information about the development of the parliament, the powers of the Legislative Chamber, the activities of factions, committees, and commissions, and the inter-parliamentary friendship group.

Constitutional reforms and laws developed based on the renewed Constitution were noted. The participants discussed the priority tasks outlined in the Uzbekistan-2030 Strategy and determined the direction of the seven-year development.

The parties noted that relations between Uzbekistan and the UK are consistently developing. Views were exchanged on further inter-parliamentary cooperation.
