Uzbekistan: USAID experts visit Syrdarya
Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: The Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Phthisiology and Pulmonology and its Syrdarya branch carry out purposeful work to preserve the population’s health and prevent non-specific lung diseases. This makes it possible to protect people from tuberculosis infection and treat patients as prescribed.
Most importantly, the services provided to such patients are free, and the State budget covers the costs through the State Health Insurance Fund.
USAID experts led by M. Kaliyev and representatives of the State Health Insurance Fund visited the Syrdarya to get acquainted with the work in this direction and exchange experience.
During the visit, a workshop was held for industry employees on “Funding a TB dispensary”. The industry workers were given the necessary recommendations regarding high costs in the admission and treatment of patients and the targeted use of financed funds.
The participants also voiced their opinion on the reimbursement program introduced in the center, its Syrdarya branch, and its advantages. They expressed proposals for further improvement of work in this direction.
