“This year, Navruz is being celebrated during the blessed month of Ramadan, in harmony with its sacred values, which gives the holiday a special and deeper meaning. On these auspicious days, as our hearts are filled with joy, we once again extend our congratulations to the Muslims of our country and the entire Islamic ummah on the holy month of Ramadan and wish for the fulfillment of good hopes and aspirations,” stated President Mirziyoyev.
The Head of State also extended warm greetings to compatriots living abroad, acknowledging their enduring love for their homeland. He emphasized the historical and spiritual significance of Navruz, which has held a special place in Uzbekistan’s three-thousand-year history. The holiday’s deep-rooted humanism and philosophy have inspired admiration worldwide, even amidst globalization, underscoring its timeless relevance and enduring cultural essence.
The President noted that the creative spirit inherent in Navruz aligns with Uzbekistan’s ambitious reforms and rapid transformations under the New Uzbekistan initiative. The country continues to advance justice, enhance living standards, and uphold human dignity. Across the nation, modern industrial complexes, infrastructure projects, new residential areas, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and cultural and sports centers are being developed. Cities and villages are witnessing significant improvements, making them more comfortable and prosperous.
Under the nationwide “Yashil Makon” (Green Space) project, Uzbekistan is fostering a new ecological environment, with the State Program “Year of Environmental Protection and Green Economy” further expanding these initiatives. The President also underscored the importance of youth empowerment, recognizing young people as the driving force of the New Uzbekistan. He praised the achievements of Uzbekistan’s talented and dynamic youth, urging them to seize the vast opportunities available in the country.
“My dear sons and daughters, the time has come to fully realize your potential for our Motherland’s prosperity. Work tirelessly and direct all your energy toward turning the great opportunities of our country into real, tangible results! Remember that behind you stands a great nation of nearly 38 million people. And I, as President, will do everything to ensure that each of you secures a worthy place in life,” Mirziyoyev declared.
A special festive atmosphere was felt in the mahallas, where public celebrations highlighted the growing role of the mahalla system in social stability, youth development, poverty reduction, entrepreneurship, and environmental protection. Taking the opportunity, the President extended his congratulations to all mahalla employees on their professional holiday, Mahalla Workers’ Day, celebrated on March 22.
Navruz, a symbol of interethnic unity and harmony, has long been cherished by Uzbekistan’s diverse nationalities and ethnic groups. The President reiterated the nation’s collective strength, stating, “Our strength lies in unity and solidarity, our power – in love and devotion to the Motherland, our success – in confidence in our capabilities!”
Recognized as an international holiday by the United Nations, Navruz unites Eastern and Central Asian nations. In this spirit of regional cooperation, Uzbekistan is set to host a trilateral meeting with the leaders of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan in ancient Khujand at the end of March, reinforcing good neighborly relations and unity.
Foreign ambassadors and international representatives also attended the celebration, where President Mirziyoyev conveyed warm wishes of friendship and goodwill to their nations. The festivities featured a spectacular concert with performances by renowned artists from Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Türkiye, and Tajikistan.
The New Uzbekistan Park was adorned with colorful flowers and flags, while exhibitions by national cultural centers reflected the country’s rich diversity. The President toured these exhibitions and enjoyed performances by folk and ethnographic ensembles, further enhancing the celebratory mood.
