President of Uzbekistan visits Imam Bukhari mausoleum in Samarkand
Samarkand, The Gulf Observer: President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the mausoleum of Imam Bukhari as part of his official visit to Samarkand region on Wednesday. Verses from Quran were recited there.
According to the presidential press service, the shrine is being rebuilt – a mausoleum, a huge mosque, minarets, porches are being built. The President got acquainted with these construction works.
- We have discussed this project a lot, we have repeatedly visited it. There is no need to rush construction now. It is necessary to have all conditions here, both from the point of view of pilgrimage and worship, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
The head of state proposed to establish an electronic museum showing the life of Imam Bukhari near the complex.
Recently, when we were in Medina, we saw the Prophet Muhammad’s sayings and the museum of Islamic civilization. It would be good if we could establish a similar museum here. It will show the life of our muhaddith Imam Bukhari, the path of knowledge, the history of that time through information technologies. These will remain in the vivid imagination of young people and foreign tourists. The museum will be another spiritual treasure for our people, the head of state said.
The Ministry of ICT Development and the Ministry of Construction were instructed to prepare a project in this regard.
In addition, Shavkat Mirziyoev visited the Khazrat Khizr complex and the first president Islam Karimov’s mausoleum.
