Uzbekistan’s First Ambassador to Cyprus Presents Credentials to President Christodoulides

Nicosia, The Gulf Observer: Abat Fayzullayev, Uzbekistan’s first-ever Ambassador to the Republic of Cyprus, officially presented his credentials to President Nikos Christodoulides during a formal ceremony.

President Christodoulides extended his congratulations to the newly appointed ambassador and expressed his best wishes for a successful tenure in fulfilling his diplomatic responsibilities. The ceremony also served as a platform to discuss prospects for enhancing bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Cyprus.

“We will pay special attention to the development of bilateral relations with Uzbekistan, as well as cooperation within the European Union,” the Cypriot President emphasized, underscoring the significance of fostering stronger ties.

Diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Cyprus were initially established on May 30, 1997. This new step marks a significant milestone in the relationship, paving the way for closer collaboration in various fields, including within the framework of the European Union.

Ambassador Fayzullayev’s appointment signals Uzbekistan’s commitment to strengthening its diplomatic outreach and advancing mutual interests with Cyprus and the broader European region.
