Uzbekistan’s FM Welcomes Italian PM Giorgia Meloni in Tashkent

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: Yesterday, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov met with the President of the Council of Ministers of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, during her brief stop in Tashkent, according to media reports. “Very glad to welcome H.E. Giorgia Meloni, President of the Council of Ministers of Italy, who made a short stop in Tashkent,” wrote the Uzbek Foreign Minister on his Telegram channel. “Conveyed the best regards on behalf of the President of Uzbekistan H.E. Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The agenda of Uzbekistan-Italy Strategic Partnership ties is comprehensive and dynamic.”

This visit follows the official visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Italy from June 7 to 9, 2023. During his time in Rome, President Mirziyoyev held talks with Italian President Sergio Mattarella and Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, discussing various aspects of the bilateral relationship.

Additionally, from November 9-11 of last year, President Sergio Mattarella of Italy made an official visit to Uzbekistan, further strengthening the ties between the two nations. These high-level exchanges underscore the growing strategic partnership and dynamic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Italy.
