At the same ceremony held in Manila, Philippines, on September 3, Ho Chi Minh City (HCM City) also received recognition, winning Asia’s Leading Business Travel Destination and Asia’s Leading Festival & Event Destination.

This marks the sixth time in seven years that Vietnam has been recognized as Asia’s Leading Destination, beating out tough competition from China, India, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Sri Lanka to retain the prestigious title.

Hà Nội continues to solidify its reputation as a top-tier global destination, being recognized as the leading city destination and the premier choice for a city break. Additionally, HCM City’s Department of Tourism was honored as Asia’s Leading City Tourist Board for the second time, while Quảng Nam Tourism won the title of Asia’s Leading Regional Tourist Board.

Hội An, a UNESCO World Heritage site, earned the distinction of Asia’s Leading Culture City Destination for the fifth consecutive year, having won the award in 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2023. Mộc Châu, known for its lush landscapes, was named Asia’s Leading Regional Nature Destination for 2024, while Hà Giang, the northernmost province of Vietnam, made its debut as Asia’s Leading Regional Cultural Destination. Cúc Phương National Park in Ninh Bình province won Asia’s Leading National Park title for the sixth year in a row, triumphing over notable competitors from Japan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and Việt Nam. According to Nguyễn Văn Chính, Director of Cúc Phương National Park, the award is a testament to the enduring dedication of the park’s staff, the local community, scientists, and visitors over the past 60 years.
