Vietnamese PM Chinh Sets Vision for Tien Giang Province’s Economic Ascendancy by 2030
Hanoi, The Gulf Observer: Vietnamese Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính has issued a clarion call to the Mekong Delta province of Tiền Giang, urging it to leverage its inherent potential and strategic advantages to emerge as an economic powerhouse within the region by 2030.
Addressing a conference convened to unveil Tiền Giang’s master plan for 2021-2030 and beyond, the Prime Minister emphasized the province’s pivotal role in fostering sustainable growth, attracting investment, and spearheading transformative development initiatives.
Highlighting Tiền Giang’s strategic location as a key nexus between the Mekong Delta and the Southeast region, PM Chính underscored the province’s robust transportation infrastructure, comprising extensive road and waterway networks. Leveraging this infrastructure, coupled with its status as a premier food-producing hub in the nation, Tiền Giang is poised to harness its agricultural potential, particularly in rice, industrial crops, and fruits, to meet both domestic demand and international export requirements.
In addition to its agricultural prowess, Tiền Giang boasts immense potential in the realm of tourism, owing to its rich cultural heritage and scenic landscapes. PM Chính stressed the importance of advancing high-tech agriculture and promoting tourism, alongside fostering industries that support rural development and environmental sustainability.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister urged Tiền Giang to embrace emerging sectors such as green transition, digital transformation, and knowledge-based economies, positioning innovation as a driving force for economic progress. Investment in transportation and urban infrastructure, coupled with robust efforts in education, climate change adaptation, and environmental protection, are imperative for realizing Tiền Giang’s developmental aspirations.
