Beijing, The Gulf Observer: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, is scheduled to undertake an official visit to New Zealand and Australia from March 17 to 21, announced Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin on Thursday. The visit comes in response to invitations extended by Winston Peters, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of New Zealand, and Penny Wong, Foreign Minister of Australia.

During his visit to New Zealand, Minister Wang will engage in discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and fostering mutual cooperation across various spheres. This visit underscores China’s commitment to enhancing diplomatic relations with New Zealand and fortifying strategic partnerships in the Asia-Pacific region.

Following his engagements in New Zealand, Minister Wang will proceed to Australia, where he is slated to hold the seventh China-Australia Foreign and Strategic Dialogue with his Australian counterpart, Foreign Minister Penny Wong. This dialogue serves as a crucial platform for both nations to address key bilateral issues, promote regional stability, and explore avenues for collaboration on matters of mutual interest.
