Xi Jinping Highlights Shared Vision for Development in Meeting with Vietnamese Assembly Chairman

Hanoi, The Gulf Observer: Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday urged China and Vietnam to join hands in advancing modernization efforts and contribute greater stability and positive momentum to global affairs.
During a meeting with Tran Thanh Man, Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam, Xi emphasized the significance of strengthening bilateral ties and deepening cooperation between the two neighboring socialist countries.
President Xi noted that his state visit has once again allowed him to witness the remarkable achievements of Vietnam’s Doi Moi (reform) process and to personally experience the enduring strength of the China-Vietnam friendship. He underlined that both nations are currently navigating pivotal stages in their development and national rejuvenation.
“China is comprehensively advancing the building of a strong country and the great cause of national rejuvenation through Chinese modernization, while Vietnam is entering a new era of national rise,” Xi stated. “In the face of a volatile and uncertain international landscape, China and Vietnam must bolster confidence in their development paths and governance systems, strengthen solidarity and coordination, and build a China-Vietnam community with a shared future of strategic significance.”
Highlighting the shared political foundation between the two nations, Xi stressed the importance of political direction in ensuring the success of each country’s development trajectory. He called for regular exchanges between top leaders to build consensus, enhance mutual trust, and guide the steady growth of bilateral relations.
President Xi also proposed deepening inter-party cooperation and enhancing communication between legislative and political consultative bodies. In light of the upcoming 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchanges, he advocated for efforts to promote mutual understanding and friendship, particularly among the youth, by drawing on shared revolutionary heritage and resources.
Commending the productive cooperation between China’s National People’s Congress and Vietnam’s National Assembly, Xi encouraged greater collaboration to foster socialist democracy and the rule of law, while further enriching the content of the China-Vietnam community with a shared future.
Chairman Tran Thanh Man welcomed Xi’s visit, describing it as a powerful testament to the importance placed by the Communist Party of China (CPC), the Chinese government, and its people on advancing China-Vietnam relations. He praised the longstanding friendship between the two countries, built on geographical proximity and shared revolutionary ideals.
He noted that the strategic direction provided by the top leaders of both parties will open a new chapter in bilateral cooperation and the building of a shared future. The Vietnamese National Assembly, he added, looks forward to further strengthening its communication and collaboration with China’s National People’s Congress, in line with the consensus reached by both countries’ leadership.
Tran also extended congratulations on China’s successful hosting of the recent “two sessions” and reaffirmed Vietnam’s commitment to supporting the long-term friendship, prosperity, and mutual development of the two nations.
