Xi Jinping Meets Dmitry Medvedev to Strengthen China-Russia Cooperation
Beijing, The Gulf Observer: Chinese President Xi Jinping, who also serves as General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, held a meeting on Thursday with Dmitry Medvedev, Chairman of the United Russia party, to discuss deepening bilateral relations and multilateral cooperation.
Marking 75 years of diplomatic ties, Xi highlighted the unique path forged by China and Russia, emphasizing mutual respect, harmonious coexistence, and win-win collaboration as hallmarks of their relationship. This model, Xi noted, serves as an example of new-type international relations and strong neighboring country ties.
President Xi reaffirmed China’s commitment to enhancing alignment between the development strategies of the two nations and tapping into the momentum of their cooperation to deliver greater benefits to both countries and their peoples.
The meeting also underscored the importance of closer coordination within multilateral platforms such as the United Nations, BRICS, and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Xi called for joint efforts to uphold an international system centered on the UN, advocate for genuine multilateralism, and work toward a fairer and more equitable global order, safeguarding international justice and strategic stability.
The dialogue reflects the continued strengthening of China-Russia relations amid shared aspirations for a stable and just global framework.
