19th SCO Forum to Convene in Tashkent
Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: On June 5, the 19th Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Forum meeting will be held in Tashkent, chaired by the Uzbek side and organized by the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan. According to media reports, the Forum will focus on the theme “The role of the SCO in the new conditions: joining efforts in the name of universal security, stability, and prosperity.”
The Forum will bring together over 40 experts from 10 countries, including a distinguished delegation of representatives from national research centers of SCO member countries, specialists from observer states, SCO dialogue partners, as well as leaders from the SCO Secretariat and the Executive Committee of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS).
The event’s agenda features three main sessions that will address priority areas of cooperation within the SCO, strategies for enhancing the SCO’s effectiveness at its current stage of development, and future prospects for improving the activities of the SCO Forum. These discussions are expected to foster a deeper understanding and collaboration among the member states.
At the conclusion of the Forum, a Protocol of the meeting will be signed, encapsulating the approaches and visions of the SCO member states regarding the discussed agenda items. This document aims to reinforce the collective commitment to the Forum’s themes of universal security, stability, and prosperity.
