UAE-Kyrgyz Joint Business Council Holds Inaugural Meeting to Boost Economic Ties

Sharjah, The Gulf Observer: The Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FCCI), in collaboration with the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), successfully convened the first meeting of the UAE-Kyrgyz Joint Business Council. The session aimed to strengthen economic and trade ties between the United Arab Emirates and the Kyrgyz Republic, fostering enhanced cooperation between their respective private sectors.

Chaired by Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Vice Chairman of the FCCI and Chairman of SCCI, the meeting was attended by Nartaev Nurlan Vic, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic. Other notable attendees included Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, Director-General of SCCI; Ahmed Al Qaizi, Assistant Secretary-General of FCCI; and Dr. Fatema Khalifa Al Muqarrab, Director of International Relations at SCCI, along with business leaders and entrepreneurs from both countries. Participants represented key sectors such as agricultural technology, energy, manufacturing, healthcare, and tourism.

The meeting featured a presentation on the operational framework of the Joint Business Council, emphasizing the importance of reciprocal trade delegations and expanding cooperation across various industries. The Council aims to provide flexibility in its operations to effectively achieve its objectives, thereby facilitating deeper economic integration between the UAE and Kyrgyzstan.

A key topic of discussion was the potential establishment of an annual joint economic event, designed to serve as a direct platform for business owners and investors from both nations. The proposed event would enhance business-to-business (B2B) engagements and encourage the exchange of expertise and investment opportunities.

In his remarks, Al Owais highlighted the UAE-Kyrgyz Joint Business Council as a strategic initiative to strengthen bilateral trade relations and explore new investment opportunities. He underscored Sharjah’s appeal as a prime investment hub, citing its strategic location and world-class infrastructure. Al Owais reiterated the commitment of the UAE Chambers to supporting the Council’s objectives, considering this inaugural meeting a significant milestone in advancing economic cooperation between the two nations.

Speaking on behalf of the Kyrgyz delegation, Vic expressed the Kyrgyz business community’s eagerness to deepen collaboration with the UAE’s private sector. He emphasized the Council’s role in fostering strategic partnerships and facilitating knowledge exchange, positioning it as a catalyst for stronger economic relations between the two countries.

The attendees concluded the meeting by reaffirming their commitment to expanding economic and investment ties, recognizing the Council as a vital platform for promoting sustainable trade and investment opportunities between the UAE and Kyrgyzstan.
