Oman: Condolences pour in at UK embassy after demise of Queen Elizabeth II

Oman’s Foreign Minister has offered his condolences on the death of Queen Elizabeth II at the British Embassy in Muscat.

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: Condolences continued to pour in on Sunday from all over the Sultanate of Oman following the death of UK’s Queen Elizabeth II on 8 September 2022.

Oman’s Foreign Minister has offered his condolences on the death of Queen Elizabeth II at the British Embassy in Muscat.

“His Excellency Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, offers his condolences on the death of Queen Elizabeth II, Queen of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland and Head of the Commonwealth of Nations, at the British Embassy in Muscat,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Meanwhile, a large number of Omanis bid farewell to the Queen Elizabeth II and recalled her close relations with late Sultan Qaboos bin Said bin Taimour and Sultan Haitham bin Tarik during her visits to the Sultanate of Oman.

The departure of Queen Elizabeth II was a shock to all countries of the world, including Oman, especially in light of the strong ties that bind the two friendly countries and people for a long time.

Sayyid Badr Al Busaidi said: “Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth gave a lifetime’s service to global peace and friendship between people and nations. I join the people of the United Kingdom in mourning and share deeply in their loss.”

Omani national Omar Al Nabhani said the bonds of friendship between the United Kingdom and the Sultanate of Oman were and are still strong, and that is why His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik issued his orders to fly the Omani flag at half-mast at public and private establishments and in its embassies abroad from Friday, September 9, 2022, on the death of the Queen.

Moath Al Saidi said: “Sincere condolences and sympathy to the royal family and the friendly British people on the death of Queen Elizabeth II. She was united by long friendship and close ties with the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said and the Sultanate of Oman. The great queen was a symbol of wisdom, tolerance, respect and appreciation for the world.”

Mohammed Al Nassri said: “Goodbye Queen Elizabeth, the friend of the Sultanate of Oman passed away. We loved her along with the Sultans, the late Sultan Qaboos and His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik. Our deepest condolences to the Queen’s family and the friendly British people.”
