President Tokayev Highlights Historic Role of Constitution in Strengthening Kazakhstan’s Statehood

Astana, The Gulf Observer: President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev addressed the scientific conference “Constitution and Statehood: Dialogue of the Law and the Future”, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of Kazakhstan, the Akorda press service reported.
In his remarks, the Head of State underlined that Kazakhstan is celebrating a milestone, recalling that the Constitution was adopted 30 years ago through a nationwide referendum, marking a historic moment in the nation’s development.
President Tokayev stressed that the Constitution remains the unshakable foundation of Kazakhstan’s independence and a reliable guide in strengthening the country’s statehood.
He noted that Kazakhstan has implemented several packages of political reforms and consistently updated its political system in line with the nation’s aspirations.
“Today, we see the appropriateness of the country’s strategic choice towards the path of progress to a civilized society. The 2022 referendum recorded an unprecedented level of consolidation of the nation around the strategic tasks set before our state,” Tokayev stated.
The President emphasized that within a historically short period, Kazakhstan has undergone a fundamental transformation, with society advancing toward greater political maturity and civic responsibility.
